Name\u0026nbsp;\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1.1 The \u003cstrong\u003eAshdown Forest Riding Association\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e2.\u003c/strong\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003cstrong\u003eObjectives\u003c/strong\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2.1 To assist in conserving the Forest in its natural state for the benefit of walkers and riders alike\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2.2 To be the voice of riders on the forest and to work in liaison with the Conservators to improve riding conditions\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e2.3 To ensure that Ashdown Forest is kept available for use by horse riders with the minimum of restrictions \u0026nbsp;\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e3.\u0026nbsp;Membership\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026nbsp;3.1 The Association shall consist of paid-up members\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026nbsp;3.2 A paid-up member is one who, having joined the Association, has paid an individual subscription for the current financial year\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026nbsp;3.3 A person wishing to join the Association must apply to the Hon Treasurer \u0026 Membership Secretary. \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026nbsp;3.4 Persons under the age of thirteen shall be eligible to join as junior members.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u0026nbsp;3.5 Junior members may be represented at meetings of the Association, by a parent or guardian, who may speak and vote on the junior member’s behalf (agreed at AGM 2008)\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e4. Officers and Committee\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e 4.1 The Association shall have the following Officers: \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;a) Chairperson\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;b) Vice Chair\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;c) Hon. Treasurer \u0026 Membership Secretary\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;d) Hon. Secretary\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e4.2 The Business of the Association shall be managed by a Committee comprised as follows:- \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;a) The Officers\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;b)\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;Up to eight other members\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4.3 Any Four members of the Committee shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of Business.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4.4 The Officers and other Committee members shall be elected by a majority of the paid-up members present and voting at the Annual General Meeting.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4.5 Each Officer shall hold office for 12 months and at this term be eligible for re-election.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e4.6 The Committee shall have power to co-opt members to fill casual vacancies or otherwise. All co-opted members shall retire annually\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e5. Subscriptions\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e5.1 The Associations financial year shall end on 31\u003csup\u003est\u003c/sup\u003e\nJanuary. \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e5.2 The Annual General Meeting shall fix the subscription rates for the ensuing financial year.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e5.3 The Committee shall apply the finances of the Association:-\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;a) To defray the Associations running expenses\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp; \u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;b) For any purpose which the Committee shall deem to be within the “Objectives of the Association” set out above\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\u003c/ol\u003e\n\u003cp style=\u0022line-height: 1;\u0022\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e6. General Meetings\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e6.1\u003cstrong\u003e\u0026nbsp;\u003c/strong\u003eA General Meeting shall be convened by the Hon. Secretary at the request of the Committee or at the written request of any 10 paid up members of the Association. There shall be at least one General Meeting each year \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e7. Alteration of the\u0026nbsp;\u003c/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eConstitution\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e7.1 Notice of any proposal to alter this constitution shall be given to Members not less than 14 days before a General Meeting of the Association, but the failure of any members to receive such notice shall not invalidate any such alteration.
